The company was founded as Thorne Associates in 1970, to become Thorne Pneumatic Systems Limited in 1974. Initially it was selling and servicing Pneumatic Tube Systems.
In 1975 the company acquired the sales rights for vacuum cleaning systems from Lamson Corp. of Syracuse N.Y. for Ontario then Canada.
In 1980 Thorne developed its own line of automatic Pneumatic Tube Systems. The largest Pneumatic Tube System sold was a fully computerized 32 station system for the Mississauga General Hospital.
In 1992 Thorne launched its own line of heavy duty industrial vacuum cleaning equipment, systems and accessories - for both portable and central systems.
The Pneumatic Tube Systems were transferred to Pneutrans Systems Limited in 2002. Pneutrans Systems Limited is a sister company to Thorne Pneumatic Systems Limited.
Over the years Thorne Pneumatic Systems Limited has sold thousands of systems, replacement parts and accessories in Canada and the United States.
